Original Writing
from Postcards from Dragon to Snake
In the Spring, at an artist’s party, I met a shining guy. He had thick, suave hair and partial paralysis from an illness.
He showed me a published book of his photographs, stunning photographs of rugby players clashing in mud. He couldn't photograph anymore because of the paralysis.
Quoting my optimism books, I said: Don't give up. You can do it.
In the fall he died. He couldn't do it.
What does it mean?
